Is it possible to copy “Program Files” to a flashdrive / thumbdrive and run the program on another computer?

Hi i am curious if its possible to copy the program records form a computer onto a flashdrive and then run the program from that flashdrive on another computer, that does not have the program installed. If the program (when installed initially) needed a product key, would i need that key again to run the copy off my flashdrive?

What do you think? Please comment below to tell me.
